Our Story

“You already have everything you need within you”

If you would have told me this 10 years ago at the very beginning of my journey, I wouldn’t have believed you! I was 28, newly married, with one child from a previous relationship, and fresh out of my clubbing phase. As I embarked on this new journey, somewhere down the line I became all mother and wife ultimately loosing myself on a road I took to find myself. Five years, and two kids later I came to a critical crossroad. One day after putting my children to sleep, I fell to the edge of my bed crying trying to figure out why I still wasn’t fulfilled after having a husband, three beautiful children, and taking a leap of faith to start a business I always wanted? After a few hours of thinking, praying, and coaching myself I made a life changing discovery. The woman I had been searching for all these years was still out there, and that’s when the real work began. While investing heavily into my own personal development I became very curious about the issues that other women were facing along their journey of rediscovering themselves. My curiosity turned into advocacy and a lifetime commitment to the empowerment, wellness, and advancement of women. This began the birth of Living Fulfilled Coaching!

Meet our founder

Hi everyone, my name is Alisha Small! I am a Brooklyn, NY native, mom of 3 beautiful children, wife, founder of Living Fulfilled Coaching & Consulting, and certified life coach receiving my coaching certification from Montgomery College in Maryland. Before I am all of those things, I am a woman! A woman who loves hard, enjoys taking herself out on dates, eating plant-based food, meeting new people, and servant leadership. Along with being a life coach, I am an avid mental health advocate, workshop facilitator, and mentor who teaches people how to effectively implement self-care in fast-paced lifestyles. I have also served a mentor teenage girl at various organizations such as The Girls Scouts of America, Women Who Create, Every Girl Can, Stella Girls, and I'raise Boys and Girls International.

My Life before intentional self-care

As women we a naturally wired to take care of the people around us, especially the ones we love. Too often we get stuck putting others first even if it’s at the determent of our own health. I know all too well how your individuality, and womanhood can get lost in the roles of mother, wife, and entrepreneur. I have been in this space many times in my journey but there is one year I remember vividly. 2020 was one of the hardest years of my life. I was struggling with high functioning depression, emotional eating which left me at my highest weight of 330lbs, a marriage on the brink of divorce, two cancer scares, and a huge move to Maryland with no friends or family. At the end of the year, I had surgery, and that same day I decided that I had enough. I wasn’t going to lose my life over things I could control. I decided that I wanted to truly live and not just survive. I was never going to be in this space again! That day I decided about the type of woman I wanted to be and how I wanted to show up in the world. I was going to be intentional and unapologetic about becoming the healthiest version of myself.

My life after intentional self-care

Since then, I have seen remarkable changes in all areas of my life. I have lost over 50lbs, went back to school to build my business credentials, built a network, and a thriving coaching business. I get asked all the time how did I do it? My answer is simply intentional self-care. I take really good care of myself. I am consistently taking care of Alisha the woman so that when it’s time I can give back the best version of myself to the world.
